Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

1 Cup water,
1 Quart of ripe tomatoes(fresh or canned)
2 jars retail spahetti sauce
2 Tbsp blended Italian spice
1 or 2 Tbsp dried hot red peppers
3 or 4 bay leafs
1 or 2 pints mushrooms
3 or 4 onions
1 bud garlic
4 slices bacon
1 or 2 tbsp butter
fresh ground black pepper
1 kg lean minced beef
1 or 2 eggs
3/4 cup paemesan cheese
1 small tin tomato paste
3 red or green bell peppers

Boil tomatoes, water and spices in gallon pot for 1/2 hr. Mash. Add jars of spaghetti sauce to simmer. Add mushrooms. Simmer 1 hr stirring freq. Saute chopped bacon in frying pan till brown. Add butter, chopped onion, black pepper and minced garlic until onions translucent, then add to simmering tomatoes, continue to simmer and stir. Brown beef and drain fat. Add a prepared mix of blended egg and cheese to still hot drained beef. Add to pot. simmer 2 hours. add tomatoe paste and simmer another hour or two. Add bell pepper 23 minutes before serving., 

Serves 8 to 10. Salad and garlic bread recommended. Favorite drink.
